Meteorologists at the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan Meteorological Department (AMD) have issued a warning due to the possibility of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, wind gusts, and flash floods in 19 provinces across Afghanistan.
The Afghanistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning that is effective from July 21 to July 22 for a number of the provinces mentioned, where rainfall levels are anticipated to be between 10 and 30 millimeters and wind speeds to range from 20 to 90 kilometers per hour.
The provinces listed in the issued warning are: Badakhshan, Uruzgan, Kunduz, Herat, Nimruz, Helmand, Samangan, Nooristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar, Panjshir, Paktika, Parwan, Paktia, Khost, Balkh, Kandahar and other provinces.
According to the Taliban officials, 2 people were killed and another 4 were injured as a result of flash floods in Laghman province, where the floods also inflicted financial harm to the farmers.
Almost a month ago, the AMD issued another warning for the possible flash floods in low-lying areas of 22 provinces in Afghanistan, caused by torrential rains and strong wind gusts.
On its official website, the Afghanistan Meteorological Department also offers some recommendations on what to do in the event of flash floods, thunderstorms, and other natural disasters.
